TEN COOL military-inspired SNEAKERS FOR WOMEN IN 2019
Sneakers, Trainers or Kicks, no matter the name, the humble sneaker has come a long way from low-tech athletic shoes or 'plimsolls' to become an everyday fashion essential.
Brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics have become giants on the strength of exploding sports endorsements throughout the Nineties and through organic "sneaker culture" from subcultures like hip hop.
The same subculture that gave rise to sneakers has also given rise to military-inspired fashion and camo streetwear.
Here is a list of the best and the best value military-inspired sneakers for 2020.
As with all Rockin' Camo lists, sneakers are listed in no particular order and we feature sneakers from all brands and for all budgets.
1. Nobull Women's Training Shoes (White Camo)
Don’t let the simple design fool you. These kicks from Nobull are made to withstand pretty much everything you could throw at them. Made from Nobull's 'super fabric' - they are glass, knife, and even barbed wire resistant. Not what you'd expect from sneakers, but then these shoes perform just as well scaling a fence.
The upper of the sneaker features seamless one-piece construction, with extremely durable, breathable and abrasion resistant super fabric. The outsole lug pattern was designed for multi-environment usage, with a good mix of flexibility, traction, and support.
2.Blowfish Malibu Marley Sneaker
The Marley is well named. Like the legend Bob Marley himself, these shoes are as laid back as a Jamaican beach. We liked the Marley so much we took a closer look and reviewed the shoe, here.
3. Steve Madden Gills Camo
From a factory in Queens, NY, Steve Madden has made a big impact in the shoe industry, merging years of experience with unique and creative designs.
Easy to slip on this laceless kick is available in two camo-patterns, one a more traditional camo with olive hues, the other faded grey, and black.
The Steve Madden Gills feature a canvas upper with hand-made lining and sole and a clean white 1.25 inch rubber platform outsole. A laid back loafer with a minimalistic sillouette.
4. K-Swiss Women's Aero Trainer T Sneaker
The Aero Trainer T is a modern take on a tennis court-inspired style and features a lightweight, breathable mesh upper with suede details.
The aero trainer has a rubber cup sole with the iconic K-Swiss 5 stripes sculpted into the sole.
We especially like the finishing touches like collar detail and an extra padded heel cushion. Available in a range of colors including pink camo.
5. New Balance FuelCore Coast v4 Camo
If Adidas has the iconic triple stripe and K-Swiss has the 5-stripe, New Balance has the 'N'. At Rockin Camo, we never liked the New Balance logo as much.
Thankfully, it has been muted on the FuelCore Coasts and takes nothing away from the subtle, stylish grey camo print.
The FuelCore Coast v4 is designed for running, but its look pairs just as easily with jeans as it does with your favorite workout gear.
FuelCore uses a combination of foam densities to enhance underfoot cushioning and provide a pep to your step.
6. The Collection Jill
The Collection is a warehouse brand that utilizes the latest shoe tech in its reasonably priced range. These woven fly fabric mesh sneakers are more breathable and stretchy than you would expect from a lesser-known brand.
The sole is made from lightweight rubber and the upper is also very lightweight and breathable, being almost sock-like in feel, making these a decent gym or everyday shoe.
7. Krimus Breathable Running Shoes
Krimus make these inexpensive alternatives to more expensive brand name prime knit shoes. Used as intended in the gym or while running, they feel as if you are not wearing shoes at all.
They feature an EVA MD rubber sole, breathable fly knit upper and a super lightweight outsole.
Sizing is a bit small but it will stretch due to the material. The only customer criticism of these shoes have been a lack of grip on the sole.
The Krimus makes the list for being affordable, comfortable, good looking and true to size.
8. Blowfish Malibu Mondo Sneaker
Blowfish Malibu makes the list again with the Mondo.
This laid-back inspired sneaker is available in muted khaki or grey and features a ruched upper with some frayed-edges for that worn-in look and feel.
Details are key with Blowfish Malibu such as Mondo's faux leather straps with buckles and faux zipper.
The inside zipper allows for easy on/off for those lazy days when don't want to lace up a sneaker.
9. Seaves Legend Sneaker Saltwash
According to Seavees, the Baja Slip On draws inspiration from the spirit of pioneering California surfers as they traveled to remote Baja California, Mexico in February 1964.
Crafted from salt-washed printed herringbone twill these minimal twin gore designed Slip Ons feature a contoured foam footbed, low profile textured rubber foxing and a traditional long-lasting calendar outsole.
10. Vans Sk8-hi
Last but not least, Vans Sk8-hi will have you standing out rather than blending in. Vans are another iconic Californian brand that has adopted camo prints.
Founded back in 1966, Vans earned iconic status after skateboarders who like Vans rugged build and sticky sole, were seen sporting them all over Southern California.
The Sk8-hi features an eye-catching tiger camo print, a street style classic in our book.
