11. Wu-Tang

Wu-Tang Clan rose to prominence in the early nineties in New York after releasing the independent single 'Protect Your Neck'.

A collective of talented MCs from the Staten Island area, the group had a huge impact on New York street culture with their rugged and raw delivery and tales of life in the city's economically disadvantaged boroughs.

The crew was often seen in oversize wear, military surplus gear, and military boots.

On the cover of their fourth studio album, the crew was decked out in military fatigues and boots to recreate the Iwo Jima flag-raising photo from 1945.

Wu-Tang might not have been the first to wear military apparel in hip hop but their influence over fashion, music and film stretched beyond New York's streets to the worlds.

12. The Weeknd

"I'm all camoed out like I am in the military" sings Tha Weeknd in his smash hit 2016 song 'Low Life' with Future.

"I'm still rockin' camo, I still roll with shooters", he raps in another.

Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer, The Weeknd clearly has a love for the military aesthetic and is regularly spotted wearing military-influenced street fashion and camo streetwear.

He was also recently pictured with girlfriend Bella Hadid camoed out at a military-themed New York party.

13.  Jay-Z

A New York rapper turned music mogul, Jay Z is among a select group of performers who went on to bigger and better things after a successful hip hop career.

Husband to the Beyonce, Jay moves in some pretty elite circles these days and like his wife, he is seen as a fashion icon in his own right.

Coming up in the crack era like Nas, Jay comes from the era when Timberlands and fatigues were first worn on the streets of New York. It's a style Jay still feels comfortable in as a middle-aged man.

14.  Shay Mitchell

Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actress, model, entrepreneur, and author with a refined taste for the military aesthetic.

A former successful model before becoming an actress, Shay has been pictured wearing various camo garments, jumpsuits, hussar jackets, and M65 Jackets.

Shay has a bold military-inspired style that rarely if ever looks overdone.

15. A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor with a love for fashion that was evident since he arrived on the scene in 2003.

A$AP is known as a style maverick and has legions of fans who watch his every move. A$AP is often seen in camo and other military-inspired streetwear having no doubt been influenced by his upbringing in Harlem, New York where military streetwear was born.
